Tight radius hose sourrce

Due to where my oil breather catch can is and the angle of the fitting on the oil tank fill neck, I'm going to need hose that is capable of a tighter radius than the thick stock crank case breather hose.

Anyone have tips on where to look? I've been scouring the internet, but nothing so far (well without ordering some and taking a chance it will work).

Todd

I remember seeing tight bend small diameter hoses at your FLAPS for heater connections.

i had the same issue at one time with my added front cooler with rubber hoses and adding a hose clamp at the pinch/bend point will keep the hose from pinching/crimping keeping it round. it may not serve your needs visually, but it is affective.

How about an angled/radiused fitting?

Install a spring inside the hose. It will prevent kinking

The issue is finding a hose that is flexible enough. There's a motorsports place not far from my house. I'm going to stop in there and see if they have any thoughts.

Todd - I used a section of the old breather hose that went from the oil tank to the back of the intake boot. It has the correct radius in there to work.

Hmmm, yeah, I might have to see what I've got laying around from what I took off. Thanks Mat! I should be ready for next cars and coffee!

+1 on the coil spring inside the hose. Especially when this is a breather hose. Cheap & easy.

McMaster Carr lists bend radius for all their hoses. Look for one oil and fuel resistant.

Don't laugh..I used a clothes washer drain hose once for connecting a catch can. Worked well and was cheap

Looks like the easiest solution is going to cut the bracket I made and weld in another 1.5 inch section. Should get be high enough where the hose should fit with a minor struggle.

i cut a straight aluminum hose fitting like the black plastic oem one and welded it back together on a 45 degree angle. that allowed me to route that breather hose down and around the peri eter of the engine bay for a very clean installation.

I also vote for window shopping at a FLAPS. They should also have hose catalogs you can look through to find a suitable fit. Fitting a spring into a hose, then bending it to fit will work for awhile, but that puts stress on the hose material which will eventually fail (crack). Fit that spring into a hose shape closer to the final radius.
