Headlights only come on at last 1/2 MM of pull
of the headlight switch. What's going on in side that thing, and can I fix it (dare I dismantle it?), or should I just replace?
If the contact is simply worn away, then I don't want to get into the business of soldering an extension contact surface as it will undoubtedly prove unreliable ( = fail when I'm driving 70mph at night on a dark road). If anyone knows, fill me in.

I would go ahead and replace it right away. I had one go bad on a 1990 Ford Escort that I used to own years ago. The lights would go out completely while I was driving sometimes!
Very dangerous! Bill
