Cutting Correct 911R/ST Rear Exhaust Bumper Holes??

Ok, this is probably going to sound a little neurotic...
I have a 911R rear bumper and I want to cut the correct shape and size rear exhaust openings to replicate the factory openings on an ST or R rear bumper. It seems they are somewhat oversized and are not a perfect half circle (or maybe its an illusion due to the curve of the rear valance).

Any ideas/tricks before I start hacking away to get it right??

Thanks!

I cut mine as close as possible until the bumper and muffler both fit while still touching. Then I used a spacer block and a marker to trace a concentric arc around the exhaust pipe.

Then I cut the line using a coping saw. Then sand the lip to profile finish, prime and paint.

This way you account for any manufacturing differences in the muffler pipe locations.

I have an RSR bumper and the exhaust holes are molded into it. Just needed to be cut out. When and if you do cut mask with nice blue painters tape and use a new blade in a nice body saw. It will cut like butter. Use a file or sandpaper to clean up the edge when finished. Good Luck.

Yes, but if you really want to be exact, find an original R and take measurements. All other replicants are approximations, some closer than others.

Are there concours events for tribute cars (clones)?

Snapper ... I made a template up with tape and outlined the contour of the exhaust hole on my rsr bumper. I havent cut mine yet. There is a bit of a radius that drops into the hole. I used a marker to trace the lower inner radius. Just line up the two hash marks with your bumperette and the lower line with the lower mark. PM me an address and Ill mail it to you.
