1969 911T Throwout Bearing Lubrication
Hello all. Just replaced the guide tube, throwout bearing, retaining clip, bushing and TO bearing guide clips on my '69 911T.
I have greased the guide tube with wheel bearing grease and used silicon on the bushing/pivot. What other places need grease? - TO bearing-to-pressure plate surface? - TO bearing guide clip area? ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a '69 911T that I've probably installed at least half a dozen new clutch discs, pressure plates and throw out bearings during the 40 years that I've owned the car. I always put a very thin coat of grease on the face of the TO bearing (not pressure plate diaphram) and on the faces of the plastic guides that rub against the clutch fork. Don't go overboard just a thin coat of grease rubbed on with your fingers.
