Stock ROW Front End Restore

I was lucky a couple of years back to get an extremely original ROW 1984 with cloth seats that was low miles and had not been messed with during federalization other than headlamps (even ECU untouched :) ). With some spare time I finally put the correct headlamps and rings on the car. I was lucky as it already had the correct rubber inserts for the bumper. Also added new fog lamps in yellow. Car is now 100% stock ROW other than the yellow lamps.

Looks good! That's a great find. More pics!

I was lucky to find an unmodified 1987 RoW car. Other than the radio, it was stock right down to the 7 and 8 x fifteen inch wheels. It didn't have any of the federalization stuff that's required in the US, so it has all the regular Euro gizmos that it had when new in Switzerland. It's a low option car, but has some of the good stuff like cloth sport seats, spoilers and no sunroof.

Man, you guys are lucky! My gray market car was gone though end to end. Not much was left when I took ownership!

This photo is of the coupe discussed above (before ROW restore to front end) next to my old ROW cab with a stock ROW front end:

Looks great. Where did you get the bumper inserts to remove the US running lights?

I can't get enough from watching our cars the way they were designed.

ROW original look is just clean and complete.

Fantastic job. Thanks for sharing.

PS. Great sport seats. Healthy envy…….

Thanks, I really like the sport seats. Cloth grips a lot better in the fast turns too ;)

Its 1984 code L810 rubinrot as per the stickers and books. It changes a little in different lights (direct sun) between maroon and rasberry. When I first bought the car I wasn't in love with the color but the cars near perfect orginal condition made it impossible not to buy :) I had been seaching for a perfect 1984 ROW in blue or green for years.

Now after living with it I really like the color.

I like the color. Those original RoW/euro headlamps look so much better than US lamps :)
