Really annoying sqeak/creak...
 

Hi all...

I have a UK 89 911 3.2 Coupe which is wonderful in everyway apart from this really annoying squeak/creak that I just can't locate.

The noise seems to be inside the car, from the right rear , somewhere in the region of the speaker shelf and the rear window. Everyone I've shoved into the back confirms that it appears to come from there.

I've stripped out most of the interior/sound proofing/rear seating but its still there.

The only thoughts I have left is that it could be the rear window itself moving slightly or something engine/suspension related that just seems like it comes from inside.

So has anyone experienced a squeaky/creaky rear window?
Can suspension noises sound like they come from inside the cabin?

Other things I've tried...

No amount of pushing, shoving, jumping up and down or swearing while the car is stationery will reproduce the noise inside the car although the suspension its self does creak.

Shoving on the back window while travelling didn't stop or alter the sound in any noticable way.

Check for broken or cracked rear sway bar mounts.

Thanks for the pointer. The right rear sway bar mounting has sheared completly.

It must of broke before I bought the car as its seems like the bracket itself has been welded back together rather than removing it and welding a new one back on.

Glad to help. Porsche makes a factory replacement. It is more $$ if done correctly but much better than a cheap fix. Cheers.
