Which pertronix ignitor

I called Pertronix about application of Pertronix Igniter 11. My dist # 0231 184 003 for my 73 911S. They first gave me a listing for Ignitor 1 and also the Ignitor 11. The Ignitor 11 part # 91867A however Pelican lists the Ignitor 11 for 73 1/2 year but it does correspond to the 003 dist..
Will the Ignitor 11 work. It sounds like the Ignitor 11 has some additional qualities.

I just received reply from Glenn from parts. It does fit and I ordered it.

I ran into the 73.5 problem when I fitted Pertronix to my car too. Sounds like you have the right one.

The installation is easy. Just remember you are adding switched 12 vdc to the red wire on the Pertronix. the black wire is the same as the original points. It can be confusing when you first study it.

To my recollection the 1 & 2 are basically the same, and you can run either. The exception is 2 has an auto shut off so you don't burn it out if the key is left on, and it has some dwell adjustment with RPM. Lots of bad feelings towards pertronix from the folks who dont have an accessory position to run stereo or such without also having the ignition on. The Ignitor 1 can and usually does fry if the key is left on.

I wanted the II because with MFI you have to run electric fuel pump for a few seconds (key on position) especially on hot starts.
I googled the instructions and was surprised that the feeler gauge tolerance is something like .10 to .50. They go on to say that is if a plastic tool gauge is not provided. Quite a large gap. I wonder if there is any advantage to setting on the high or low side. I'll call Pertronix Tech tomorrow and ask.
