My '86 3.2L Targa (Light grey- Alpine off-white, over a dark red burgundy interior) was stolen recently from a locked garage near downtown Boise. Stock black Fuchs.
It would have been taken sometime between February 25 and March 6. VIN ends in '842 and the car is stock. The car is recognizable in that the thieves didn't take the Targa roof, so is running around without a roof in a sleety, raining, freezing Idaho late winter. A $4000 reward is being offered for information leading to its return. E-mail: to MissingMy911@outlook.com Or, Boise Police at 1-208-377-6790 Ask for Detectives Division |

Any special decal for recognition? Any detail(scratch, crack, ding, exhaust) that can help ID her? Best wishes, Good luck getting her back.

Definitely post pictures and monitor the for sale forums looking for parts that may have come from your car. Rat bastages! I hate thieves!

I agree....pictures would be a big aid in locating it.
Hope your car is found in one piece. Any surveillance cameras in the area?

Locked garage, dead of winter, disappeared without a trace...check the ports, going overseas. Someone has a list, and is checking it twice... That thing was loaded directly into a large Semi.

That jewel will be stripped down in someone's garage and parted out.

You should post the entire VIN there have been cars recovered on here in the past because someone Goggled the VIN and notified the owner that they found the car. Also if you have some pictures I know that all of us notice every air cooled Porsche we see parked or driving

Stolen Targa VIN
VIN is WPOEB919GS160842
Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah, pretty distressed out here over my Targa's theft. And thanks for the VIN suggestion. No point in not posting the complete#. It's been in the national stolen database since last week anyway. It's a '86, Alpine (glacier) white over dark burgundy leather. It's that subtle, almost greyish color. Stock with the black Fuchs. I wish I had photos, but they nicked my digital camera and back-up disk drives from the adjacent office (as well as bunch of other stuff). I don't do Facebook, but am now wishing I'd posted some photos along the way up there. There is some other evidence that suggests it MAY still be in the area, so I'm holding out hope. It was in pretty good condition-- some stone chips on the hood, front lower valence scraped a bit. The only notable "condition" issue visible from the exterior is that the PO backed it up someplace with the driver's door open, so slighly crinkled the edge of the driver's door. Subtle, but visible from the side. Thanks for everyone's interest. Hoping for some good luck. |

Was it stolen from your garage or a commercial garage? If commercial garage, was there security video? I have my Targa in a commercial storage unit and if it is ever stolen, it would have to be somebody connected with the storage facility or a neighboring unit. Good luck in getting it back.

Also post engine number and tranny number if you have them. If your car gets parted out this may help you catch the thieves.
Best of luck, Rahl |

License plate number too!
There was a Pelican last year (?) that had his 911 stolen and recovered because the car was dumped outside an auto shop complex after the thieves were done with their joy ride... Car sat there for several days and finally the shop it was parked in front of Googled the plate and got the Pelican thread! Amazing. Hope your's ends in recovery. Cooper |

Absolutely hate to hear that! Hope you find the car and the thieves. Actually, I hope the thieves get the Marsellus Wallace treatment program.
Think hard about anyone that was coming and going leading up to the theft. Pest control, repair guy, ... there is usually someone with inside knowledge. Where I live, I'm told the chop shops are mainly interested in high volume stuff so not much interest in niche car market stuff. Seems more likely that the car would be headed overseas. There was a Pelican here in Atlanta that found his car a few weeks after it was stolen. So don't give up hope. If they didn't move it fast they are likely sitting on it for a while until the heat dies down.

Get the info out to every Porsche club in North America and every other car club you can think of. A buddy of mine had an Austin Healey stolen in Vancouver, but it was recovered somewhere in eastern Canada due to the assistance of a stranger who happened to be a member of a Chicago area car club and read his post. Car people hate to see other people lose their special cars to theft, so reach out to everyone!
