OT: Rubber side molding tape or glue needed

Hello all. My secretary has a Toyota with a side molding peeling off. What would be the best fix for this? 3M double sided tape (is there a specifc type for auto molding?), glue?

I vaguely remember that there is weather stripping glue that sticks like stink. Anyone know this?

Thanks.

Come on guys I know someone has Fred Sanford molding before. (no derogative tune intended...just trying to keep smiling)

There is a 3M weatherstripping glue. Works great, just tape the weather stripping to the door overnight. I used it on an old VW years back. Pep Boys, or any auto parts chain is likely to have it. Can't remember the exact name.

This car was held together by various adhesives (for many years might I add). The weatherstipping was the best, followed by the "liquid weld" used to fix a stress crack in the fan motor support that would cause the fan blades to rub on the shroud. Worked like a charm! (what can I say...college car, I was broke)!

For a good bond, get both surfaces mostly clean and put some on each surface to dry (doesn't take long to dry). Then put some more goo on there and smush the pieces together. Tape to hold it in place is a great suggestion.

Either glue or tape will work, but you need to see what was on there originally. Probably tape. Most autosupply stores sell the double sided 3M moulding tape.

The molding was put on with what looks like double sided tap, the spongy kind. So I thought applying the glue to the tape would work OK unless I take the whole trim piece off and add new tape, but I couldn't fine that at PepBoys here...guess I have to look some more. Thanks guys.
