Trying to ID Engine by Sedrial numbers..Need Help
 
Hello,

I have 2 engine and here are the numbers..

1. Believed to be a 2.0 T engine- 606161809

2. Believed to be a 75 2.7-on the fan shroud
901 106 101 5r . next to the fan stamped in the
alunimum *6146279* . and on the bottom of the block i
found 901 101 102 7r

Hi Ron,
Your first engine number has to many digits.. it should be 7 digits
and you have 9 might want to llok again.
the second engine number: 6-1-4- 6279 breaks down as follows,
6, 6 cylinder
1, 911
4, 1974
6279, Sequential numbers
and the numbers on the bottom, I believe are part number for a
R spec case.

Thats about all I can decifer..

Just wanted to throw one more thing out there on the 74' 2.7 motor

614****

(6), 6 cylinder

(1), Engine type. 1 base model. (It used to stand for T in the previous year. 2 was an E and 3 was an S in 73').
In 74' 1 is base model, 3 was an S or US Carrera, and 6 was a Euro Carrera as in MFI.

(4) Year.
