They rebuilt alternator for 70$
 

If you think that your alternator is busted, take it to the shop :)

I have battled with my car's electronic system for whole summer, and finally gave up and took my alternator to place which is specialized in alternator/charging system rebuilds.

Yea, the alt was faulty.

They replaced 2 diodes, machined the slip rings, new brushes, put in new bearings and even put some lacquer on the wirings.

They also promised that when the alternator was in place, I should take the car in whole to the shop and make sure everything was in order, for the same price.

70$ :)

Installing it this evening, wish me luck.

Thats a great price....
The rebuild shops around here look up the Number's on the Alternator then charge a percentage of what the new Alternator
would cost. No more cheap rebuilds around here.... or at least none that I have been able to find.
