Differences between these 911 steering rack covers (belly pans)

I have 2 of these 911 suspension cover pans for my 914 conversion project!

This is the steering rack I have with the aluminum cross member (I believe from an '86 Carrera)

I am wondering which of these 2 covers is appropriate for this steering rack assembly to fit in my 914.

Note there is a difference in the edge profile and the mounting tabs!

I thought the shields were dictated by the body style rather than the type of rack? The earlier shield, like on my 73, has an additional step and stamped indent in it.

The bottom pan matches the one on my 87 Targa.
