The list gets shorter!!
Tackled two projects on my P- car to do list. I installed a new aluminum sump plate. I don't expect to notice much of a difference with oil temps, but it did stop the only oil leak that I had. The new plate is well worth the cost, very well made and comes with all the gaskets and hardware.
The other project was to install a 3rd brake light into my ducktail. I feel a litte more comfortable now while sitting at a stop light, looking in my rear view and seeing a Navagator blocking out the sun behind me! I hope that the photos come out.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/DCP_1268.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/DCP_1271.jpg |
Nice work!!! The third brake light looks cool on the tail. Any more pics from a different angle?

Sweet car. Nice to see another MA local too. It you ever need an extra set of hands, I'm right around the corner.
I have got to get a sump plate like that too. Where did you get yours? |
Rich, thats the only shot that I have for now.
Dave, Thanks for the offer of help, that goes both ways. I got the plate at Foreign Intrigue in Maine about $75.00 ordered it over the phone and received it the next day. |

rich & PF, does the manufacture recommend that you no longer use that for a rear end jacking location?
|
K911sc,
I did not check with the manufacturer as to using it as a lift point. However just looking at it I would feel more comfortable lifting the car with this than the original plate. It's quite substantial. Just be sure to protect it well with a roll of newspapers as Wayne recomends in his 101 projects. |
one more question, does it incorperate the concave/convex oil sump screen that has been discussed here previously? i had heard that the stock screen is a flat unit and the coned type part # 930.107.314.00 is way superior. if that one accomidates the coned screen i might pile on. if so 800# for the foreign intrique place?
thanks |
K911sc,
Sorry for the delay getting back. I checked with Foreign Intrigue and they confirmed that if protected the plate can be used as a jack point. They also have two models of the sump plate, one is a deeper model that will accomidate the coned screen. Their # is 1-800-800-8070.--- Paul |
PF no prob on the delay,, hell im at work i got all day! do they have the coned sump screen available? take yer time im here till 4, then its SmileWavy

k911sc, I'm here all day as well! Thank Wayne for this site as it sure helps me get through the day. They do have the sump screen as well. They are very knowledgable as well as easy to deal with. Good luck!
Let me know how you make out. Paul |
