G50 conversion torsion bar questions

I've got a 78 american sold 911 sc that i'm putting a short nosed/short bell G50 transmission into, and i'm getting a little confused.
Some people say that i don't need to touch my torsion bar With a shortened g50 and others say i have to ? What is the truth here ?? :P And will i have to move the engine backwards?
I don't mind grinding a little of the t-bar, but i realy don't want to go coil overs because i can't find any TUV approved coil overs , and without TUV in norway i might not get the car technically approved and road legal.

This is my T-bar if a pic helps .
