911 Electrical Problem

I just purchsed a 1989 911 Cab and am having a problem with door locks, winshield washer pump and fog lights. The door locks will not stay locked either by depressing the lock button from within or by using the key. The washer pump and fog lights are not functioning. The battery, fuses and relays all appear to be fine. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If it was just one of those things, I'd say it's a switch. But since it's all three (and I don't have my wiring or fuse diagrams here at the office with me) I'd just say you're probably looking at a bad ground. I have a bad ground for one of my turn signals. I think the culprit in both our cases is a ground point in the trunk, somewhere around the a/c blower. Bentley's has a diagram of where the ground points are. Start there. I have bad locks too, but it happened when we removed the a/c switch console and didn't out it back together correctly. But I don't think your other two problems are connected anywhere near that, so maybe they share a common ground up front. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hello

Simple things to backtrack, the doorlocksystem needs most time.
Guess its a mechanical problem on the lock mechnismen that draws back into the electric operation.

hey there,
I have an 88 with a similiar problem.
After you start the engine turn the key a little toward off and back on again.
If this helped and the door locks work again, then the problem is the swich behind the key mechanism, @$58.00 and sweat. good luck
