Marc Sanders RIP
Marc Sanders (DRAGO)
August 10th, 1968- March 23rd, 2009 I don't know any easier way to tell this. Looks like Marc finally lost his battle with his demons in the last day. Many of us have been dreading this would be the final result. But in some way we could see this coming. It appears to be alcohol related. He was found deceased at the extended stay hotel in Alderwood where he has been staying for the last few months. I only was able to get partial description's of what has happened from his brother this afternoon. I will pass on more details as I get them to those interested. I will also get out the Memorial details when they are announced from the family. If you have anyone else that needs this info please forward and CC me so that when I hear more I can pass on the info about the memorial. In the mean time keep his boys and his family in your thoughts or prayers. It was Marc?s wishes to be cremated. My parents are working on where we will go after. She would like to host a lunch and give everyone the opportunity to share thoughts and stories about my brother. I?ll send details as I learn more. What I need from anyone willing is pictures and stories about my brother. We want to use this opportunity to reflect on the good times, not just the past 24 months. I didn't really know him, only met him once while I was out in Seattle visiting family, and when I was looking to buy a car - I seriously entertained the idea of buying his white '87 Targa. When I found another car here in NY and showed it off in this forum, he was one of the first to congratulate me and made a great joke about the car looking better if it had been white (like his). I am very sad to hear of his passing. Sorry that I won't be able to attend the memorial.

My condolences...this is a horrible way to go; I lost my older brother the same way several years back. His first Porsche? A tangerine 1969 911S; he got me hooked.

We just learned today from the Snohomish Co medical examiner that Marc did not die from alcohol poisoning. There was no alcohol or drugs in his system. He died from Diabetic Ketoacidosis. We are absolutely dumbfounded. He had all the classic symptoms but everyone blamed it on his drinking. Of course, we will never know how long he had diabetes and we will never know if he knew he had it and chose to ignore it.

It's been five years since I lost my brother.
I just wanted to thank those on the forum that took the time to come to his service. I held it together on that day until I saw a chain of Porsches coming up the drive at the service. He would have been proud. Thank you all. Todd Sanders |
