Putting aside the issue of my exploded air box.
In previous posts i have noted my fuel problem as comming from some kind of leak between the fuel tank and the fuel pump ! (note my fuel pump (1975) is rear mounted ie next to rear wheel). I have always had a problem with fuel smell inside the car ! But yesterday after the car was sitting for 4 day's I opened the door and whoofff it smelt like I had an open container of fuel inside my car. How do I track down this leak ? I suspect it is leaking in the tunnel between the tank and the pump. How do I check this ? Are there any pictures, diagrams, instructions of how the fuel lines run in my car ? Please help again ? |

This is not good. First make sure that all your lines to the fuel tank, and evaporative emmisions tanks are hooked up. Same with the overflow. Now check all the lines from the fuel pump to the engine. If the are all good, you probably have a leak in one of the metal fuel lines running in the tunnel. And they are a ***** to get at for either inspection or replacement. I believe in the last year or so someone posted a thread on replacing these fuel lines. Maybe Warren will chime in about now.
