My mechanic ran a fuel pressure test and found the fuel distributor to be leaking and not holding pressure. I did replace the WUR and had the injectors cleaned (they were gunked up). Lately though I think I found the culprit....a filthy rusting fuel tank). I am going to POR 15 this baby next week, but I am wondering just where can I get my fuel distributor rebuilt or get a rebuilt unit? I have been told they do it exclusively in California and then I hear, "oh-no, its a place in New York". Then my parts guys says he has an in with Bosch in Germany! The price seems to run about $300- $400 for the rebuild. Just what goes wrong with the distributors and how is it not holding pressure for quick start up! I hear the flow openings are in the nanometers!!
CIS folks help!!!!!! Thanks Bob 73.5 T |

I believe most of the problems center around the control plunger binding in its path of travel. There are also small metal diapragms which divide the two halves of the differential pressure valves. If a diaphragm begins to leak, a fuel metering problem also develops.
You can just buy a rebuilt fuel distributor for $389 from Vertex Auto. Pelican lists theirs as NLA. Hope this helps. Nick ------------------ _ _ __ _ _ Nick Shumaker 1982 911SC Coupe nickshu@yahoo.com PCA -- Rocky Mtn. Region |

I also believe that the Bosch K-jetronic was used on like every single german made car of the time period. I was in a junk yard a year ago and I happened on the '70s Mecredes and low and behold...there was a K-jetronic FD sitting right there. It looked identical to the one on my car. 2 fuel line attachments and 6 injector lines. So, you might try other brand suppliers.
