Can anyone please descibe the normal operation of the blower?
1. Should it come on when the engine is hot after driving and the key is out? 2. When the key is in the acc position? 3. Should it operate continuously in either of the above situations? Mine "cycles" on and off when the car is hot and the key is in the acc position, but not when the key is out. Normal? Thanks. ------------------ Steve '89 Carrera 4 '62 190 SL |

The blower is responsible for augmenting the flow for heating and it functions as a cooling fan for the engine, driving air through the heat exchangers. This occurs while running if heat reaches a certain level and at rest after shut off if sensors call for cooling. It may cycle on with or without the key position on.
