Cambermeister problem (purchased from Pelican)
Hi all... this is my first post here, but I've been lurking for some time. Nice board!
I just received a Weltmeister Cambermeister from Pelican, and I think I should have received a bag of nuts, bolts, and washers along with the rest of the goodies. All I received were the eye bolts, the bar, and the brackets. Can anyone confirm the parts that this thing should have? The tech article here on Pelican seems to indicate that the additional parts would have been included in the kit. I discoverd that I might be missing some parts a bit into the installation, and ran into a problem anyhow... One of the strut towers is spinning the strut, the large cupped washer, and of course the bolt as I try and loosen the thing. Is there a trick to holding the strut and washer still so that the nut can be broken loose? The other side was no problem. In case it matters, we're talking about an 85 targa here. Rgds, TT |

If you're missing parts, I have no doubt Pelican will make it right. They're good people! Call them and ask what's in the kit.

Try holding the shock tower cover in the wheel well while someone loosens the top bolt.

It sounds like you're missing the longer allen head bolts (3 on each side) that replace the stock allen head bolts in the top of the strut tower as well as the bolts, nuts and washers that go thru the eye bolts. You can probably get them all at tacoma screw if you don't want to wait for a shipment from Pelican.
You're in the seattle area, are you getting ready for this weekends track event?

Hold the large washer still with a monkey wrench while you loosen the nut.

Odd, we get those directly from Weltmeister (owned now by Performance Products). Their messup (again), but we'll take care of it for you of course. Just give the customer service line a call so they can talk with you and find out exactly what is missing...
Also, the install (with a picture of all the parts) is in "101 Projects for Your Porsche 911..." -Wayne

Thanks to the tips, I got it broken loose. A little interesting without an assistant, but it's all installed now.
Oh yes, and ![]() If anyone else buys one of these things, one end of the box is 1/2" thicker, and the goody bag is under that section. I missed it as there were several other things I had ordered in the box which I was rummaging through, rather than unpacking like a normal human. Rgds, TT |
