I Know, I Know...Chicom URO Master Cylinder Lasts 5 Seconds
I know, I know, you guys told me...but it's what I had. It's all I had...
I put a URO master in the '75 after lots of brake parts replacement, all rubber lines, hoses, metal lines, etc, etc. Went to go bleed the system and after about 5 pumps the fluid gushes out of the back towards my newly rebuilt pedal cluster, making a pool of fluid in my freshly painted pedal area, draining the entire brake fluid reservoir. Well there you go. 1) I should have listened. 2) Don't trust your life to these types of Chicom brake parts ie. URO as it's insane. 3) I am mad at myself. 4) I should have listened. 5) It's your life and brakes are very important. Now it all has to come part. ATE is the only right way to do things. Don't make the mistake that I did. I will post a photo after I am done being mad at myself. My time really counts as I have three kids. I lost a lot of time, not to mention the brake fluid is all over. Don't try to save the $150 like I did. It's not worth it. Thanks for letting me vent, as this blows for me right now. |

Hey, it happens. Good vent btw...I like a good vent.
The good thing is it happened in the garage. I buy some URO stuff....like tail light lenses, but nothing of import. |

I hear you man. Last year my Tundra radiator started leaking. Most of the aftermarket parts are now made in China. I ended up swapping the radiator out 4 times before I found one that didn't leak. Arggh.
