Gas cap, dang it!
So I was a little distracted while filling my car with fuel (cute lady filling up next to me) and proceeded to knock my original gas cap off the top of the pump and onto the ground shattering the handle part in millions of little pieces. I got the cap back on the tank but it's not easy now.
Can I use a replacement from a local parts store or is it a Porsche special? I see our host sells the original for $62 and aftermarket for $8.

993-201-271-00-M51 $7.75. Has 5 star rating. Why pay $60 for the M100 version? Red better than black? Who sees it with the fuel door closed? Nobody, and red don't make the car faster.

I have a 78 sc with no rubber seal. Can I just replace the seal or do I need a new cap? If I need a new cap, do I need the $53 one? I am getting a slight fuel odor and wondering if it is because there is no rubber seal in the cap
