Help with Fabspeed Exhaust

I had this exhaust custom made by fabspeed for my 911 sc. Can anyone tell me how to quiet the idle down. The car is to loud at idle but sounds amazing while under load. Has anybody had any luck with exhaust cones? or should I change the muffler.

hi mate, i have a similar system and the simple way is to get a metal bung and plug one of the muffler outlets. remove it when you get to the track etc
works a treat.

I used the Quiet-riot baffles on my 2/2 M&K and it did the trick. They are made for the Harley crowd: Rocky Mountain Performance Quiet Riot Exhaust Baffles

Thanks for the reply...Did the baffles make a big difference? This car will give you a serious headache after a few minutes. It's kinda like looking at the sun. You know your not suppose to but you do it anyway

That's stunning. Very nice. Must have had every nut and bolt restored?

Wow

I have a similar problem with my Fabspeed exhaust. I would love to know if anyone has used Quiet-Riot on a car and how well it worked.

How long have you had them? Since we don't have a couple of feet of straight pipe, where did you mount them (at the muffler connection, or in the tips)?

The tips, set back about 2 " from the end. They muffle the sound at idle and up through 3000 rpm and then they have a pressure spring release and it opens up. My 2/2 was unbearable bcz of drone before they were installed.

Wow!!!!

I am TOTALLY excited! Much better than having to buy a new muffler. Thank you. I will be ordering soon.

I only baffled the left side of my Fabspeed and it quieted it down nicely so I did nothing on the right..

Why did you choose to only do one side and not both? Did you buy 2 just in case? If so, do you still have the second one?

you only have to muffle or block off one side of the 2 in-2 out muffler that fabspeed uses to reduce noise and drone.
my system looks exactly the same (on a 3.6 SC) and when i'm on the motorway i simply screw in a bung i made myself. takes 5 min to remove or put in.
any good exhaust shop could turn one out for you for beer money.

That's what I'm beginning to realize. Crazy thing is how incredible the car sounds at higher rpm 's.

How about changing the muffler? anybody with that experience? Keeping the fabspeeed headers but adding a less aggressive muffler.
