My car is coming back to me!
So; after owning my 82 SC for a little over 2 years (my first one) 2010-2012 and having to sell it for my son's college tuition (1 semester!) she is coming back to my garage!
I kept in touch with the guy from Ohio who bought the car; I'm from Boston. He was very anal about keeping her in nice order; just could tell by e-mails. So; I told him IF he ever sold to let me know. Long story short, lack of driving the car & looking fr another project He offered her to me & my offer was accepted; as a matter of fact he sold the car back to me for what I sold it to him for + the $1000 or so he put into some fiddly items. Needless to say I am ecstatic; wife threatens that if I don't drive it more than when I had it before I would be in trouble! We were also taking care of my ailing mom during my first stint; so car time was limited. I'll never forget my 87 YO mom with Dementia saying what a "pretty red car I had". Plans are to fly out to Ohio (Columbus) from NY with my cousin & road trip back along Northern Tier (Lake Erie) into upstate NY Finger lakes and to Albany to drop of my cousin; then across to Boston solo. About 825 miles, 3 day stint. He has driven car 1500 miles last 2 years & just had it in for Spring go through at local PCar shop. Spoke to the mechanic; said car is good to go. Probably do a short 150-200 miles stint 1st day to shake her out. Any suggestions for route? planning on 3/4 highway, rest secondaries. Hopefully I won't need it, bust PCar shop along the way?? Really exited to be back in the fold. I am considering vanity plate "BMRANG" as in to come back. Whatta ya think?

Good for you. Best of luck. No suggestions from me. I'm on the other side of the continent.

Awesome, it pays to keep in touch with someone you sold something to JUST in case. And the vanity plate? Why not? As a longtime 911 fanatic, I think your 911 deserves to have a vanity plate (I must have lived in SoCal for wayyyyy tooo long to think this way).

thats really cool. yes the finger lakes are great. stop in watkins glen at the track and hike the gorge if youve never been there its an amazing place. You can drive the track almost every day for a nominal fee so thats fun if youve never done it.
