Starter choices
All,
I have an old starter from a 73 2.4L 911T. Do you think it's better I get it rebuild all clean, shiny, and set from a local rebuilder that can make it strong or just get a rebuilt one? I'm just wondering of the current quality of the rebuilt units or even new ones compared to the older ones. I'm not familiar with the quality of what's currently out on the market so I'm at a loss there. However, I do need to find a quality rebuilder here (Melbourne Florida) as the last one flat out told me he didn't want to work on mine once I told him it was a Bosch unit. I think Bubba or Vern might have been his name. Can't remember now.... LOL Thanks, TJ |
I just bought the $235 hi torque aftermarket for my '74. My original Bosch is tired... I'll let you know how it goes in the next few months as spring breaks and the salt/ice retreat.

I just put the High torque unit in mine as well. Could not be more happy and they size/weight saving was more than substantial.
