I have been doing some research, however I can't find a purpose for the pin A on the test connector. it goes into the DME pin 12.
Pin B is Throttle Valve Switch/Full Throttle Switch which is used when setting your base idle. Pin C is ground. Any takers for the reason for pin A and how to use it? The image was originally posted by Hunt3r, I hope it was ok to repost. ![]() Thanks in advance Ray |

Test pin A goes to the TXD (Transmit Data) pin of the DME's 8051 CPU. This is a serial port for sending test data to a diagnostic computer that apparently only Porsche has. The serial port does not use normal RS-232 signal levels or Baud rates, so it cannot be connected to a PC. (do people still call them PC's???).
A while back I build a signal convertor to allow me to connect the DME Rx/Tx to my laptop, and I modified the DME software to allow me to read any of the RAM bytes. It was useful but I really didn't use it much - the EEPROM emulators are much handier. Chuck.H '89 TurboLookTarga, 373k miles |

Hi Chuck,
You are a wealth of knowledge, thanks for your reply, now I understand why, like Justin, I have never read anything about the use of pin A. My curiosity is now contained. Cheers Ray |
