Washer fluid question

I'm in the process of troubleshooting why I get no spray out of the nozzles. In my 86, I have two tanks, one in the driver wheel well and a second in the trunk next to the driver strut. What is this second tank for? It has a wired connection on the bottom, but I can't see any hoses coming out of it.

I also have two lines running to the nozzles, diagrams I've seen don't show this second line. What's it for? I'm thinking maybe it's a heated spray line and I'm looking at an older diagram.

Btw, my pump works (it's new and I hear it) so I think I have a clog somewhere.

Thx

Small bottle is for the intensive washer (you should have a toggle switch on the right of the speedo). As for its connection to the washer jets, the PET has a better image than I could ever describe with words.

The second one is probably for the headlight washer system.

A lot of the time, the tank it'self can get some nasty stuff growing in it and clog the exit. Removal of the tank and a thorough cleaning should take care of it. To test, you could hook up another fluid supply (water bottle etc) to the pump intake and see if sprays.

No, that system used the larger, main reservoir. GeorgeK has it right.

Thanks, the intensive wiper is on the stalk on my car, you pull both the main washer arm and the second at the same time. My headlight washer switch is on the dash next to speedo.

What page number is the wiper diagram in PET? 476 pages and search was not helping.

If you want the washer section, not the wiper section, look at 904-10, 904-15 and 904-20.

I have the same problem on my 81 sc the drivers nozzle does not work looked last week took the hose apart to that nozzle there's a tee fitting that supply's fluid to the nozzles it's plugged broken etc tried to blow it out dip it in clr did not work will try and install a standard tee fitting like a vaccum plastic one see how that works
So probably not your nozzles just the lines or some fitting

The line fittings are a pain to get to. From what I can tell, the best way to get at them is to pull the nozzle off the car so you can disconnect the line, then there will be enough slack to pull the lines out.

I cleaned the screen in the tank and cleaned the 3-way t-connection down by the pump, still nothing...ugh!! Replaced the 27 year old pump, still nothing.

I follow the line up through the fuse box and low and behold, the line is crushed just by the top of the strut. Uncrushed it and bingo, works perfectly! Only took me three weeks to figure this one out, but I got.
