81 targa mirror

Anyone know how to remove the passenger mirror does it just pop out ? The Bentley manual doesn't really say as my mirror is loose inside the housing and while driving it just bounces and moves all over the place

On the base of the mirror is a small black plug. Remove that pulg, you will see an allen head screw.Loosen that screw, remove base along with the mirror. You will have to remove the wires, make notes, take pictures whatever. From there you will see what is needed.

The "getting the wires out" is the tricky part, the rest is pretty easy. Take pictures and mark which wire goes where. You need to remove them from the plastic connector. I use a very small (like electronics small) screwdriver to push the locking tabs in so the wire will come out. Make sure to use some kind of Locktite on the threads when you tighten it back up.

There are good step by step threads out there, search a bit.
