Is there such a thing? - AGM for '73?

Is there an AGM battery that is a direct fit into the battery boxes in my '73 911?

I had been using Miata batteries, but I had to pad the battery box and the positive terminals were uncomfortably close to the top edge of the battery box. I think the Miata batteries are reaching their end and I'd probably prefer to replace them with a direct fit.

The Odyssey 925 is as close as you will get. Put a small spacer block behind it and it will mount with the factory latch.

Sonnenschein x2

The A512/40 is virtually identical in size to the stock battery.

I was able to source them from a local supplier that supplies back-up power systems for industrial equipment. Only down side, the price was 1.5 times that of the stock Porsche battery.

Ha, brilliant! What an easy solution to the complicated one I have been trying to fix... I have a 925 and have been trying to figure out his best to fabricate or modify the factory strap.... Pushin the battery out a bit is so much easier lol.

But yes the odyssey 925, great battery and fits like a dream

Batteries Plus sells a Miata-sized AGM battery; don't remember the brand. I thought Miata batteries from the Mazda dealer were AGM.
