Quick 3.2 Carerra Relay Question

Hey all,

I just need clarification on the relay layout, car is an 84 Europe 3.2

The car died last night, turns over but wont start - I suspect DME relay so have ordered another from our host already but got me wondering about the Relays in the Trunk,

I suspect the fuse cover is from an older model possibly SC? As it states relay 1 & 2 are Fuel pump, from reading ive been doing, the 3.2 doesn't use a relay in the trunk for fuel, as the DME relay handles it, and slot 1 is supposed to be unused.

If so, what are the relays in 1 & 2 on mine being used for? and what should the correct layout be, would be handy to get it sorted out and marked on my cover in-case of future problems.

This is my Fuse box -

And Cover -

Thanks!

From the Bentley.

Since the car was working I would not dive in too much in there (until you replace the DME relay) except maybe clean the fuse/holder one at the time.

Do get the Bentley book it will pay off in no time.

Does the VIN confirm it's an 86?

Thanks! I will get the Bentley book shortly, haven't had the car long so have been collecting, have 101 projects already!

I found the not starting problem this evening, engine temperature sensor was faulty, dme tested fine with a jumper in its place. I will keep the new one as a spare when it comes.

Car vin checks out as an 84' so the fuse box is still pretty confusing, I would like to figure it out so I know what's doing what. Anymore help on that would be great

Thanks

It does look like an SC fuse box with no Fog Light (Relay #2) & no Cruise Control (Relay #4) but since the VIN confirm its an 84.

I'll check the Porsche Manual to see if there is any variant.
