"German" motor mounts suck
Just a FYI. These things are worthless. Didn't even last 12k, they were touching metal to metal and looked like they were gonna tear off.
Go with Original Porsche if you want them to last. These and window seals. Original Porsche all the way. Have a great weekend. |

I put the firm ones in. What are they called, "sports" or cabriolet or something. They have been good for 20 years. That was bad luck Black.

I had the same problem a few years ago, started sagging a little more than year later. I spent a little more money and got the geniune Porsche mounts.

I put Wevo blacks, semi solid, for engine, German sports for Tranny a month ago... I could visually spot the difference on the tranny mounts... Much thicker original material.
I have photos of them side by side I can post later. My ride is race car like now, after the mount swap, a little noisier, and harsher, but noticeably better. Last edited by Rich Gas; 04-19-2014 at 06:22 AM.. |

I bought a set of the "sport" mounts made by "German" - they seemed well-reviewed. I cannot see any equivalent made by Porsche - everything Pelican sells is aftermarket.

If you look at the part on pelican, it just says"German" for brand. I do not see any genuine mounts listed.

"German"?
What brand? Even those from Porsche are made by somebody, e.g. Lemförder or Meyle or Febi. I had some from APA that I resold in perfect condition after 2 years, since I use the stiffer RR mounts. |

"German" is the brand! They're an aftermarket manufacturer, presumably from China.

Flojo is right, Porsche is a design and an assembler not a manufacturer. A genuine Porsche part is one made to their standards and sold through their channel.

I agree that the Wevo mounts are very nice. Not cheap, but worth the money.

"German" parts = "URO" rejects = the most expensive parts money can buy because you have to replace these Chicom parts 4-5 times in the normal course of wear and tear, when you should buy 1 expensive part to begin with and never replace it in your lifetime.
