Shop Tour – Edelweiss / Germany – Danger of Addiction...
Hello folks,
last week I visited a very special shop in Germany, which belongs to fellow Pelicanite „edelweiss“ (Dirk Scheffer), who is one of the best BMW boxer bike engine builders on the planet. He himself won countless races with his creations and his products are used all over the world. Guess what his second big passion is? As a boxer engine maniac, the step to the Porsche engine hemisphere was nearly„inevitable“. At the beginning it was a personal hobby, but over the years he became the secret supplier of some well-known Porsche shops. He still flyes under the radar, but he‘s planning to make his parts, like cams, pistons, cranks, conrods or CNC‘d heads available on a larger scale. He‘s involved in some nice 934 and 935 projects, but he also offers components for the watercooled Mezger engines. E.g. he supplies the 84mm crank for the renowned 4.4l engine set-up, which debuted in occasion of last year‘s 24h N‘Ring race. 84mm crank ![]() ![]() ![]() 82mm crank ![]() ![]() Misc. parts ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

part 2
He has the intention to build a 4.0l MFI engine for his 3.0 RS replica as well as a 934 clone with his parts and I hope he‘ll start a thread, as soon as the work begins...
Mr. BIG ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Although a bit OT, I‘m sure you like his former race bikes. The sound is eye watering... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I‘m absolutely not affiliated to that guy. He and his chief mechanic Michael had the patience to bear my questions for a whole afternoon and I wanted to thank them by sharing my pleasent experience with other maniacs. I hope you like it – Thank you for your time |
