Hi,
seen long, metal loops in the rear footwell, behind where a rear passengers ankles would be. they look about 7cm long, as though they are made for a seat belt webbing to be threaded through? have also seen couple of SCs with this sort of metal hoop on the rear shelf - maybe for a racing harness? Does anyone kow what these are for? ![]() |

They are for luggage tie downs, not seat belts.

And they're available from VW supply houses - they're also used to hold VW bus door check straps.

thanks for the info.
the thing I find weird is that in the cars I've seen - they only have either the rear footwell loops, or the ones on the parcel shelf under the rear screen. the hoops runs lenghtways with the back seats - so they'd be perfect for luggage on the folded down back seats if there were footwell AND parcel shelf mounts - but with only one or the other I can't see what use they'd be. so I suppose my next question is - how are these hoops fixed down? welded? thnx ![]() |
