FOX has a new show premiering tonight called Fastlane. In the promos, the main character wrecks what looks like a Gulf-colored, 917 clone.
Also, on the website it has a custom 996 shown as a feature of the show. take a look! http://www.fox.com/fastlane/candystore.html

Sorry, not a 917. Cool GT-40 Replica though...
Actually, it looks like one of the new Ford GT40s that they are coming out with next year... -Wayne

Maybe I'm getting old, but I watched the first 5 minutes of this show, and I couldn't take it anymore. There creative method of putting together this show is too cool for me.

This show is a total homage to Miami Vice, complete
with hot cars, ultra slow motion, and even Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight" which was heavily used by Michael Mann for Miami Vice. The first episode was not high art, but very entertaining if you like mindless images of sex, cars, guns, and wet streets. Great colours, too. Lots of greens and pinks. The show had me laughing. There's something very tongue and cheek and retro 80s about the show.

I was thinking exactly the same thing......just a re-hash of Miami Vice. Never seen that much "butt" on network TV either.....of course it is FOX. In the immortle words of Homer Simpson, "It may be a lousy channel but the Simpsons are on TV"

I made it a point to watch...and as the review said, I left my brain at home...(I bring that out for CSI)
I'm also one of the younger guys here. Even my wife liked it. I like the fact that they used more classic muscle than I expected. I particularly liked the gratuitous GTO shot....I think Pontiac is marketing the old car ('64s) heavily to get "GTO" back in everyone's vocabulary, so they can hit us with the new one next year. sjd |
