Curt and Todd (Nostatic),
Thanks for the company going up 101 this morning. We should do this again soon. To summarize: It was a serene drive through the morning fog until we meet a beautiful TT loafing along at 80 w/cell phone to ear. It was a little different after he hung up as TT felt the urge for an attempted spanking (e.g. "try to hang with rocket ship"). I blinked, stepped on gas and before I knew it, Todd and I were a mile away from Curt and TT who were equally small. Oh, did I mention they were in front? Simultaneously, we hit it again and catch up rather quickly (traffic helps slow down the overly swift). My only excessively sweaty palms incident was when I went for my 5 seconds of fame and passed them as they again slowed for traffic (take that) only to change lanes (okay, it may have been two lanes) a mile from exit the very same instant a tanker truck does it too. Thanks breaker, breaker for the extra room as I avoided, then waved as in thank YOU and wiped the moisture from my brow with one quick motion (okay, continue breathing here). Just to show their confidence in me, later on in the day they secretly slip out for the ride home sans 911pcars. BTW, this was all accomplished under current CA speed laws. ![]() As for the AutoFest, I was slightly dissappointed. I understand there were more cars and people on Saturday. However, of the guys loitering around the Registry/RGruppe area, I had a great time. I hope our long distant visitors and fellow hangers-on, including Randy Wells (Seattle, WA) and Rick Cabell (Vermont), found the weekend enjoyable. There were probably a bunch of Pelican-heads there I didn't know about. How about tatoo IDs next time Wayne? (whom I also missed; autographing "101" books?). Glad to have run into Chuck Moreland of Elephant Racing fame; was seriously thinking about his "length-of-car" oil lines until I reminded myself I don't have room for two sets in my car. Nice product though. Sherwood Lee http://members.rennlist.org/911pcars |

"hand shake"
It's funny you tell that story Sherwood. As I was leaving GA Sunday, a guy walks up and says, "what's in this thing"?. Caught off guard, I say "excuse me" ? He goes on to tell me he's Mr. TT , and that it was fun running up "at speed". Turns out he's with By Design, I suppose I should have guessed. As you said Sherwood it was a very nice example of a mod TT.

Curt and Sherwood: it was a pleasure being able to run with the R-faction...I'll be glad to tag along again. I'm going to change my oil today...I think she needs it.
I did see Mr. TT pull into the show, so I was wondering if he might find your car and inquire about its performance "enhancements". Did you ask him who he was talking to on the phone for so long? ![]() Last edited by nostatic; 09-16-2002 at 07:59 AM.. |
