trouble installing sway away torsion bars

has anyone else had fitment problems with front, hollow, sway-a-way brand torsion bars?

I've had the bars out 20times on my race car and just purchased new 21mm bars
my 22's and 23's go onto the caps by hand....

I've counted the splines in the brand new hollow 21's and the count is correct
but when I try to put them on (even with a mallet) they are digging deeper groves into the caps/splines and are not the correct fit

I expected new to be tight or not worn.... but its like the new splines are deeper (correct number of splines) and are trying to gouge deeper into the caps

when you hold the cap on by hand, you don't feel that starting point as if everything is aligned and straight

I pulled the cap/adjuster from the other side and same thing. I pulled the a-arm and the new bar doesn't feel aligned on the internal splines either

are my bars incorrect tolerances?
has anyone else experienced this with Sway a-way?
I mic'd the OD and they are the same as the old ones.... so it seems to be a problem with the cut of the splines

thanks in advance for any insight.

Had the same problem putting on my sway a way adjustable torsion plates on the stock torsion bars.
Mentioned it in a phonecon with the maker.
I think their quality control is a tad off.
They did go on but with more force than I'd like. I think the after cut plating finish is too thick.
