Strange--received gift card from stranger today
My daughter and I took our weekly Sunday morning drive to the donut shop in the 911 this morning. Last night, she must have spilled hot chocolate on the inside of the windshield?????. We parked and I had the trunk open getting my glass cleaner out when a young man in a Chrysler 200 with blacked out wheels parked next to us. He asked if I needed help, I explained what I was doing and he went inside.
When we got to the order counter he was just finishing paying for his stuff when he stepped over and gave me the gift card and said" here, I don't come here often". I was dumbfounded. I think I told him thanks 3 or 4 times as well as did my daughter. I guess karma(good and bad) has a way of coming back. I explained that we must have done something good. I can be an a$$ at times like most everybody but I try my darndest to be charitable whenever possible, especially when I my kids are around. We used the card to buy our breakfast. JUst thought I would share the story with my Pelican friends.

Great story. I wish I had more money to give gifts to people when they don't expect it. Paid a toll for the person behind me several times and bought a manager of my local motorcycle shop his lunch when he was out with his mom (saw him at a nearby table). Nice sharing because it goes to show how a gesture goes a long, long way toward the goodwill of men and women and makes you want to pay it forward.

Oops, wrong forum but here's a pic of the 911 from the morning drive. It rained so it's kind of dirty.
the inside windshield is clean, though. ![]() Oh, and the leather strap that I attached to replace the driver's door stay broke so I will fix that later.

I have paid for armed forces personnel restaurant tabs plenty of times. Usually, it's much less than an oil change on the 3.2, so not really a big deal. And most enlisted folks don't make a whole lot of money, so I figure "what the heck?"
I never think of it in a karma way. I don't expect anything to come of it, other than the fact that one human does something nice for another. No other reason or reward required. |

Yesterday I was parking my car on Ventura Place in Studio City (Laurel and Ventura). As I stepped out of my car a lady standing at the meter looked me and smiled; said you have an hour. Replied thank you.
I walked a couple of cars up an realized she did the same thing to another person then exiting a car. I told that person thank the lady walking down the side walk. I turn around and saw her paying every ones meters on that entire side of he street. Now that was cool.
