Opinions: Amber or Red rear Turn lenses
I just learned that a PO switched out my rear turn signal lenses for euro-ish amber ones at some point… (didn't know til now there were 2 choices). I'm considering swapping them back to US-ish red lenses, but I wanted to hear opinions about rear lens cover color before I made the decision. Especially because I'm torn on which way to go -- I like the amber look on my car, and think the amber signals are probably easier for traffic to see, but I have a strong urge to keep my car as true to stock as possible.

Personally, I prefer the amber lenses. They are European cars to begin with. Buy a set of US spec that way you can interchange at will.

I also prefer the amber ones, especially since my car's body is red. With the red lenses, it's just too much red! I swapped them out, which is super easy, and saved the originals in case the next guy wants to put them back. Best of both worlds!

I too vote for the EU/amber style - in fact, I would like to buy them from you to replace the beat up red ones that are on Dad's car... if you decide to get new ones.

Red lens all the way - looks way better on cars with the red center piece.

I have both sets. I normally keep the amber ones on but put the red ones back on for concourses. The last concourse I participated in I forgot to change them back to red and lost because of it. But I still prefer the amber ones

amber lens
If you have a strong urge to keep it stock get the red ones then keep the amber lenses so you can switch later on. I did the opposite, I preferred the euros and did the rest to complete the look.

Yes, but you need an amber LED that shows through as clear except when on. |

+1 for amber.
One they look better. It's a European car. Second thing is people notice amber turn signals more so than red ones. In a small sports car, I'll take every extra bit of precaution available that I won't get creamed by a SUV.

The question then is is are the European amber rear lenses compatible with the US sugar scoops?

Amber/red both look good/proper as they were factory offers...your choice.
Clear? That is ricer/low rider look...maybe add some curb feelers to complete the look. MO. OTOH if you like it go with it. |
