Speedo sensor
Silly question, so the "ears" or "feet" go in first or point out?

Drats, thought so. My Speedo worked for a short bit after reinstall, then stopped. Read a post where someone said the ears provide the proper spacing. Hoping that was it. Maybe my wires aren't seated correctly in the tunnel.

After you change the sensor position (which is the most likely candidate imho) take her for a drive. If you are still not receiving signals I would suggest swapping/changing the two wire connectors inside the tunnel. I know almost everyone will tell you the wires do not matter but I know of a couple of instances where that made all the difference. My '83 was one of those.

So, put it back the way I had it originally (ears out), but before putting it back in place I passed a magnet over it. Nothing on the gauge. I pulled the cover in the rear foot well and found the issue.
One of the wires was correctly seated in the female connector, while the other male connector was between the female connector and the plastic housing. Twas the fault of the dumbass that installed it ;-) All good now!!!! Todd
