help with 73 911 Targa bar front seal
My from cardboard boxes 73.5 911 Targa restoration continues once again as Spring unfolds.
As I am restoring this project from a disassembled car I did not have the chance to take apart myself, I am flying blind in a couple of areas. I just took delivery of the long seal that goes on the front of the Targa bar. It has cutout holes on either side in it for the roof pin receptacle and I assume 2 screw holes. Is there supposed to be a plate or other part that seats with the seal? What is supped to screw into the holes on either side of the roof pin receptacle? My research on PP parts list tells me nothing and googling pictures of Targa roofs do not detail this area fine enough. Thanks for any help. |

There are 2 push plastic hollow pins per side. You need to modify an awl with a washer to push them in properly. I bought the 4 pins and plugs here on Pelican.
Did you get the correct front seal from Dan Pechtel ? You can use the normal rear roll bar seal , but at the front you'll need Dans older style seal. There is a little pamphlet the factory did on fitting the tops.
