Updated pedal bushing ?

It's been a long time since I looked at pedals. Do these look like they are factory bushings or replacement? I'm broke down for awhile fooling with clutch issues so "while I'm in there might as well---" soaking wet down here- brake fluid?79 sc

Hard to tell from that picture.
Pull the pin out of the clutch clevis and see what that bushing looks like. If its worn chances are the rest of them will need to be replaced too.

Pretty difficult to see the bushings in your picture, but that looks like bronze bushings where the tube and the clutch pedal shaft meet the vertical wall of the pedal housing. As for the moisture, feeling it between your fingertips (or smelling it) should tell you if it's brake fluid.

updated. See the bronze on the shaft that moves the clutch cable?

That is sort of beside the point. That foot well is disgusting. Take out the cluster and clean it up!

Pedal

I'm afraid I will be taking out more than pedals. 915 will not go into first while moving. I was putting in new clutch cable when I discovered this . Still don't understand where all liquid(brake fluid) is coming from. Brakes work great. I've only owned it a year. PO overfill maybe.

I just did a rebuild on mine on my 78 SC Targa. It was PITA but I got it done. Here are a couple of pics - the bushings are brass.

This is the "pre-rebuild"

Here is the "post rebuild"

I did a rebuild of my 69 E, it was easy to tell it needed to be done the pedals had a lot of play in them side to side and rotation. Check them for any play.

Do SC pedal clusters have roll pins in them? Those are so much fun! Like smashing your testicles repeatedly with a ball-peen hammer fun. I broke about a dozen drill bits and a vice trying to press mine out. So much fun!

Could the leak be from your master cylinder? In my 87, there is a 'drain' hole under the vacuum booster in the frunk. It may be difficult to see/find, it would be under the dash above your knees, and the fluid will drip or travel.

if you do need to press out a pin, buy a "drift".
