wheel spacer question

i want to put some wheel spacers on my 89 carrera and had 2 questions:

1) how does 10mm/20mm sound for FR/RR?

2) will i need the spacer only type (will there be enough thread?), spacer w/studs or spacers and replace my existing studs?

I just added 15 mm spacers. I prefer not running the adapter type spacer, so I swapped out the studs from 45 mm to 66 mm and added hub centric spacers. 66 mm studs should allow you to add up to a 21 mm spacer.

wheel spacer question

I did studs on the car otherwise you have to remove the hubs just a big ass hammer. The rear longer studs as I remember only fit in one area so turn the hub till you find it. Then draw the new ones in with a spacer and nut.

I only added a spacer to the rear. It was not particularly hard to do the rear, just took more time than anticipated....a couple of hours. Could be done faster, but I am slow and very careful.

Front would be more difficult.

What size wheels? 20mm on the rear is pretty aggressive if you have 8" or 9" rears, but not enough for 7".
