1980 911sc euro spec (brake light inop)

How to correctly test the two brake light switches on my master cylinder. 1980 sc euro spec. Which fuse? My rear running lights are on when lights are turned on. Turn signal, flashers and reverse lights work. My brake lights don't come on when pedal is depressed.

I purchased two switches from Pelican today and from what the tech told me and the forum it would appear this would be the most likely failure.

Put new brake light bulbs the double filament 1157 part number I think.

My taillight comes on but the second filament in the two brake bulbs does not illuminate when pressing pedal?

I guess there wasn't a pedal switch on these cars yet.

HELP

The below schematic is for the 1981 SC brake light circuit but is the same for the 1980 SC. Check the inside of the fuse panel cover to verify which fuse is #11 for the brake lights. You will need to use a multimeter to verify that 12V is making through the circuit. Hopefully you know how to read the schematic and how to use a multimeter, if not there are videos on the internet.

Brake lights fixed....yay...

Thanks Pelican forum! I studied the procedure for replacing these two switches on my MC. It went very well.
