1979sc window trim color?

I have a red 1979sc and was wondering what the chrome color around the windows should be. Its looks as if someone sanded down or off the original black surface. I have tried to look at other pic's but thought someone here would know right away. Thanks

My '79 sc has "chrome color" trim, however I recently had new window seals put in and under the seal in on the quarter windows it was black. I don't think it was sanded down, but I have heard that there is a chemical process that can be used to remove the black anodized coating. Wish I knew how this was done while still on the car.

The first couple of years of SCs were available with either black or bright anodized trim. The black anodized trim was prone to fading after years of UV exposure. Those of you with trim that isn't black but not totally bright probably have faded black. If it is still black under the seal that is certainly the case.

I have a 79SC with 51,000 miles. My door handles and trim has that sanded off look, bright finish a gun metal color. It appears to be original for the car since paint also appears original and they would have had to have the door handles to match the remainder of the trim.

Wish I knew how this was done. The trim is black under the seal. Both quarter window and front window seals have been replaced since this photo was taken.
