Oil/Fuel Level gauge issue
I still need help with this one. I put in a 3 cluster gauge over the winter next to my fuel/oil level gauge(voltmeter/oil press/oil temp). Now I can't get the fuel/oil level gauge to work. I just got it back today from North Hollywood Speedo so I'd rather not have to send it back again. Can someone check me on this-I have the 2 red/blk wires connected to the +, I have 1 brown wire jumpered over so that is the - on both, I have the green to the center terminal on the fuel gauge, and the white wire to the oil level gauge center terminal. When I turn the key on the gas gauge shows full and the oil level gauge is at the bottom of the red zone.
It doesn't seem too difficult-5 wires to 6 terminals but this has been dragging on for a while... Thanks Last edited by Dreamer52; 05-02-2014 at 02:52 PM.. |

OK, still need some help with this. I have the fuel gauge working but can't get the oil level gauge to work. I've tested the gauge by grounding and get full deflection of needle. I have a power and the white wire from the sensor, do I just jump the ground from the fuel gauge? I can only find a power and the white wire and my gauge has power, sensor, and ground connections in back. If I jump the ground from the fuel gauge I still can't get the gauge to register anything...

Have you checked to make sure you're getting signal from the oil level sending unit?

This is confusing. When I put my multi-meter on it I read 3.4 V from the white sender wire, and when I put the ground to the hot wire I read 12 V. When I hook up the gauge to Red wire to + terminal I get full deflection up. When I put the sender or the ground wire on either terminal the needle drops to the bottom of the red zone. Does the same when I add the ground wire to either terminal. It goes lower when I turn power off. Can't figure out what's wrong.
