82 SC OXS and Alternator light on

Hello

Recently purchased this 82 SC in Florida and had it shipped home to BC Canada. Had PPI done and all checked out good etc etc.

Anyways, Yesterday was riding just after rain storm on the road up to Whistler and the 2 lights came on. Car is running fine as ever and I did a quick search and found relatively little on this situation. One theory(hope) I had was that the car being new to a wet cliamted didnt like the rain and somehow the moisture shorted something. Later that day when things and the car dried out, the warning lights went off so I figured the car just liked to be dry.

This morning under sunny sky and dry roads, drove the highway into Vancouver and the 2 lights came on again and are still on now. Any suggestions where to start looking for problems or link to a thread that already exists? I am by no means a mechanic but need to start to figure **** out as it arises and deal with as much as I can myself. Thanks in advance for any help you may have.

Regards

Mark

The Ox sensor light is odometer based and goes on every 30k miles IIRC. Are they going on at the exact same time?

check the two multi pin connections in the engine bay... (one is right by the voltage regulator cover on the left, and the other is on the firewall, also on the left) Speaking of the VR, that (and rebuilding the alternator) might be causing it... mine was... separately, my multi pin connector was loose, which caused me to loose the odometer on a separate adventure
