Are the early 911 and 914 heater controls the same?

Well, they have different part numbers, indicating they didn't use the same part. Porsche/VW used off the shelf parts when they could, saving whatever bucks as necessary when designing the 914. That probably means there's some essential difference in the parts. I suppose the answer, based on that, is "no".

I put the controls from my 76 914 into my 73 911.
It was a direct fit....no issues at all.
