Who are the "Enclosed shipping" carriers from Dallas to Charleston, SC?

My son is considering the purchase of a GTS in Dallas, TX and will have it shipped to Charleston, SC. Who has used a "closed container" shipping company for transport, who are they, and what to look out for??

Is a closed trailer really necessary/advised to protect the car during transport or have you found an open carrier satisfactory??

I've used open carriers numerous times and have never had any issues.

You'll need to call a shipping company or a broker.

I only use closed trailers. There are a lot of companies out there and the ones that use open trailers aren't the best in the business. You usually get what you pay for.

I recommend Passport/Fedex and Intercity. I won't even call anybody else. Avoid Horseless Carriage at all costs.

I've used Reliable Carriers with great results. The car arrived ahead of the estimated date and the driver called me during the trip to keep me informed as to where he was.
