Was Puerto Rico considered ROW?
My COA says my 1977 911 S was a Puerto Rico delivery car, is that ROW?
And if it was ROW what difference would that make to my car? |

There would be a few minor differences. You wouldn't have had door beams, the bumper mounts would have been different, you'd have different lights and a few trim differences, that sort of thing. The engine would have been different as well, but that's a moot point since yours has been changed. If I remember right, your engine number was a 930/16, xxCxxxx, which means it's out of an '82 SC. If so, the injection lines have been changed, as in 1982 they would have been metal, not plastic. When you get the time you should do a little poking around and see what you have.

Hi,
I worked for the Local Porsche dealer in the mid 80s and although our cars were US specs we were a independent distributor apart of PCNA. For example I remember I did the PDI service on a 1990 turbo 944. Not RoW but a US specs vehicle. I know that those vehicles were not available in USA. Also I remember that some customer from US bought some 930 from us. Same story.

Yeah JR I need to poke around in it like you said. I need to figure out the engine and see what I actually have as far as the motor goes and figure out how the CIS is configured in the car.
Tonight I just got my rear sway bar reinstalled and removed the baling wire holding it on. That was a lot of fun, the ball and socket of the mid years are just a blast to install. Frigging a royal pain in the ass, nothing like precision parts that are designed to fit together yet the bushing you need to use is smaller than the part that you need to put it on. It did not help that one of my sway bar mounts was bent up from speed bump or something. But after a lot of lot of cussing my cousin and I finally got it. Man the tolerances were TIGHT. |
