What MFI lines did I buy?
I bought these MFI lines, pump bases, solenoid, and cross bar here on Classifieds.
The lines don't look at all like my 69 ones. Do you recognize them? Crossbar too. For a later model? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1400503070.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1400503085.jpg |
Are you sure they are 911 MFI fuel lines? They just don't look right. See if they match up at all to this illustration:

Can't help, but you sure have a nice selection of plated bolts, etc..

The set dead center in the lower picture look suspiciously like the ones on a mid-'70s-early '80s VW diesel, right down to the anti-vibration clamps.

There is 2 different styles that go to the right bank and it has to do with clearing the grey air channel on the later cars.

Yes under the black bin are VW. Here is a pick of my spares.

Thank you Terry, do you think some of the long lines are VW diesel as well? 3 of them have the same nut as the the short injector lines.

Shaun, the other lines I can't be sure of. I was looking for pictures of my old Mercedes 300CD, 5 cylinder diesel. It had similar injectors and just thinking out loud that similar connectors 5 pipes?????
Anyone with a 70s/80s era 3.0 MB diesel can maybe peek. If I find any pics I'll be back. Terry |
Lots of injectors use the same thread for the coupling. I just cleaned a set of 2002 Tii injectors on a diesel machine. VW diesels of that type (pre-TDi) all share the same configuration. The only other VW option might be the Audi 5000 diesel and turbo diesel. Volvo used a similar engine configuration. They could also be for one of the many MB diesels.

Wanted to thank everyone and close this out. Seller issued a partial refund, very gentlemanly.
On the plating, it's a rabbit hole that has no end. But so glad I kept all hardware on every car I ever parted out. Now I just wish I had those cars back. :) |
